From the parents of a young man whom I worked with in wilderness addiction recovery treatment setting:
"First, we want to say how much we appreciate all that our son's therapist, Miriah Lantz-Wagner, did for all of us. We realize that our son was not the easiest client and Miriah did a terrific job at breaking through to him and getting him ready for aftercare. Miriah is also very skilled at addressing the family side of the disease. We can honestly say we have never experienced anyone more able to listen to a series of disjointed thoughts, coming from people who did not even know how they felt and being able to put them into a context that made sense. Miriah is truly gifted in being able to listen to and address the family aspect of addiction. Miriah got our son to a point where he could embrace aftercare. We will always have a special place in our hearts for Miriah as she helped us through the darkest period in our lives."
From a teenage client whom I worked with at a female residential treatment center for trauma:
"Miriah,
Thank you so much for all you've provided for my family and I. Its been a roller coaster these past (almost) 16 months and you've seen it all. You've helped me get though the darkest times of my life. I hope you know how much I truly appreciate you.
You and I are very different, you're extremely chill and relaxed while I'm almost always hyper and can come off pretty annoying. Most of the best relationships I have with others are very different from me... I guess opposites really do attract. It's been cool working with you because you've opened my mind up to so many things. Especially when it comes to weird spiritual stuff. I love your compassion, your kindness and your outlooks. You've really empowered me by asking, "What do you think?", "What are you going to do?", "What does your heart tell you to do?", opposing just giving me tons of informative speeches about things that would probably bore me half to death, lol.
You"re a really awesome person and I feel blessed to have had the chance to have you as my therapist for such a long time. Our relationship has grown immensely; I am so grateful. I care about you a lot and will miss you. I can't say thank you enough, oh my goodness... keep on doin' your thang :)"
